Tom is the only son to Rose and Paul Wilde. He was born aboard a ship going from the Archipelago of Hope, in the third wave of the forced migration (forced, due to man's wish to grow beyond the lonely island). His parents were engineers, one of the most sought after skills (apart from military) that were to finally colonize [[Talamh]] (earth), the new continent their explorers had found. The Wilde family went to The Colonies with a covenant of nuns, called the [[Order of the Phoenix]]. The nuns stayed aboard the same train as the Wildes', but left a year later after the engineers (the Wilde family included) finished the Sanct Train. Then, due to a derailement, which seemed at the time as a consequence of a landslide, both of Tom's parents died. Tom was 2 at the time. Luckily, he was picked up by [[Nun Delaney]], as the Sanct Train stopped behind the derailed trail. He was then ushered into the Sanct Train, where he lived his entire life.

Appearance

Tom Wilde is a sixteen year youth. He has black, short hair, black eyebrows and a nose with a hump. He is thin, but not sickly, nor does he have much muscle mass. He usually wears trousers and long shirts (not tucked in). He prefers to walk slower, and almost never runs. He has weak stamina, but his determination kicks in when need be.

Personality

Tom Wilde is a nerd. But he is not a shut in, or an exact introvert. Rather, he wants to spend a lot of time with people, just not everyone. He picks his favorites, while the rest are just hidden in the crowd - he talks to them if he must. He is unrelenting when it comes to his campaigns, which unfortunately do take a bit longer due to him talking too much (and hogging the spotlight when he can).

He trusts his inner circle completely, but distrusts every situation that he isn't in control of, or that he knows the details. As soon as he is challenged, by virtually anything, he'll try to make a plan to out-think the person or situation. He does that usually by talking, or overtalking, and to be honest, it doesn't work all that often. He is a bit naive when it comes to thinking his way out, but his work ethic, determination pays off in the end. He often wished that he would figure things out faster, which would save him plenty of stress in the end.

Aboard the Sanct Train, he could only trust a few people - Kimberly and nun Yasmin being at the top of his inner circle. He talks about his issues and he trusts them implicitly that they will keep him happy and sane. As long as that inner circle survives and gives him his comfort zone, Tom is content. He can even become oblivious to his surroundings and not care about the trouble he could get himself in.

Tom is not the most lovable of persons - to the outside world that is. But as soon as people get to know him, they see his kindness and his resourcefulness. They enjoy staying with him because of his humor (although it isn't always funny), the adventures (to be honest, there aren't many people that can do make-believe, but to the ones that do, Tom is a GOD), the honesty. Tom makes up his mind relatively quickly and has a nose for the unknown, which he usually turns into something favorable, something enjoyable. His favorite place to spend time is the outside, literally anywhere away from people. Anywhere, where he can pretend to be a knight on a quest.

Tom's a cheerful guy, mostly in a good mood all the time. If he gets scared or needs to be pumped up (mentally), he narrates to himself, but he doesn't do that too often. But the crux of his sadness comes from the isolation he feels all around him (until he discovers Kimberly of course). Nun Yasmin is fine, but she is a teacher, and he is often forced to play pretend alone. That's why the other wards want nothing to do with him most of the time. They even stopped making fun of him most of the time, because he seemed pathetic. But when he discovered that his memories, his actions were a lie, the sadness duck down and hid. The question now is, if the memories are true or false (they're true of course).

Personal Motto

You can talk around anything; persistence is key!

Skills

Tom is an orphan aboard the Sanct Train, but he is also a member of The Colonies, a ruthless area that leaves no fools alive. The nuns drilled into him basic engineering skills, basic survival skills, basic cooking skills (they have to cook aboard the Sanct Train). Tom had taught himself to be creative with words and fantasy and thus developed a keen mind that can get him out of sticky situations on about the third try.

Positive Traits

  • Determined
  • Resourceful
  • Loyal
  • Kind
  • Hardworking.

Negative Traits

  • Verbosity
  • Unwilling to share his feelings / secrets - he'd rather try to outwit his opponents
  • Physical weakness
  • Quick to judge

Wonder

Tom's Wonder is Thinker.

Speech

Tom's words are plain, to the point - that is, unless he starts rambling about something, as he thinks his way out of a mess. Then his sentences can get a lot longer, more complex.

Motivation

Tom wants to find out what happened to his life, to beat his sense of isolation.

Complexity

As the search for his memories and Kimberly unfold, Tom will do anything to find them. But sometimes, the choice to his memories is in conflict with his nature. Anything just doesn't cut it when you pretend to be a knight. A knight, who is honorable and truthful and prefers a direct approach. He doesn't steal or sneak or bribe or do any underhanded thing. But Tom, the wanderer must.

Story arc

Primary goal: Tom needs to recover his memories and get back his stolen life Story role: Tom is the protagonist in search. He moves the plot forward with his actions Breaking point: Tom reveals his true nature, when his actions have a disastrous impact on the people around him. It is at that point that he throws dismisses even his primary goal and tries to help / undo his actions.

  1. Tom is an orphan aboard the Sanct Train. His life is lonely, he is the oddball in the bunch. He plays his make-believe, and he tries not to misbehave, but sometimes that is in direct conflict with one of his campaigns
  2. Tom finds his memories and throws his amiable nature out of the window. He must find what had happened to him
  3. Tom finds himself in a strange place and has to provide for himself for the first time. He needs to learn how to take care of himself, how to work, how to hit deadlines
  4. Tom has to borrow money after his plan fails. He is forced to be less like a knight and more like a thief as he joins Gaia's team
  5. Tom steals the bakers wallet, his first act of total disregard for another. He feels horrible, but justifies it anyway, with his search.
  6. Tom does other underhanded things
  7. Tom realizes he has been dupped, sees all the wrongdoings and is ashamed of himself. He wants to be better, but he is on the cusp of finding his memories
  8. Tom is flung back to a reality, as he is transported back to The Colonies. He is almost convinced it was all a lie
  9. Tom regains his composure after he sees the girl that he had found in Ma'Dain (and thought she was Kimberly)
  10. Tom regains his memories
  11. Tom becomes a righteous knight at last, as he strolls back to Ma'dain and tries to undo what Gaia has done
  12. Tom heals Kimberly at last
  13. Tom vows not to do harm again
