<poem> Girl in blue, games she played, eyes all rue, her self, mislaid.

As wise as she, With knives of steel, Rose a blood of sea, The earth won’t heal.

 Through caverns measureless to man

So twice five miles of fertile ground

 With walls and towers were girdled round:

 Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;

And here were forests ancient as the hills,

 Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
